Not in a charming, 'muttering the grocery list under my breath' sort of way.
But the full on, 'having a conversation' sort of way.
I always have.
When I was younger I got teased mercilessly for it (mostly by my sister - thanks sis, that wasn't damaging AT ALL.)
I mostly do it in the car. My mind wanders, I start thinking about random stuff and suddenly realize WAIT - I'm talking about this OUT LOUD.
I'm pretty sure my kids think I'm crazy.
And now my husband does too.
The other day, I was out running errands alone and, naturally, talking to myself when I realized I had inadvertently pocket dialed Nate.
Meaning, for four and a half agonizing minutes he listened to me ramble.
Alone. In the car.
When I got home, he took me into the kitchen and very sweetly told me that I was fucking insane.
Which....duh. You've been with me for 7 years and you are just now figuring that out?
He didn't think that was very funny.
And thanks to the glory of bluetooth technology, I can always pass it off as simply being on the phone with someone while I'm in the car when really...I'm not.
I'm not talking to my kids either (not always, anyway.)
Just plain ol' talking to myself like a crazy person.
And now you know.

Mostly because I didn't think we could afford it.
But also because I thought I'd go crazy.
I've been 'not working' for over a year now and it has been...great.
It's not all sunshine and candy - Cash and I have wicked tempers and have very loud disagreements more often then I care to admit.
But I love it.
Making baby food, dreaming of home schooling and spending far too much time picking up toys.
Its a good life.

This year, I'm thankful for the BEST husband.
2 healthy boys.
A house of our own.
A free library card.
Friends that rock.
The cutest grandpa.
Food in our cupboards.
A boy's burgeoning obsession with superheroes.
Our simple, wonderful life.
Happy Thanksgiving! (a day late - hosting our first Thanksgiving was exhausting!)

Cash refused to dress up or trick or treat this year, but he has been wearing the vampire teeth almost every day.
Everett's costume was a bit snug.
And mine made me so hot I was a puddle of sweat by the time the last trick or treaters came by. How people in the 70s managed to wear those damn jumpsuits without passing out from heat exhaustion, I'll never know.

How is he 4 months old already? Yeesh.
He likes to shake things up and sleep through the night some nights and not others....its fun.
He has started a little bit of mashed banana and rice cereal mixed together (gasp!) I've had some people think I'm crazy for feeding him food already but trust me on this: homeboy is hungry. And cranky when he's hungry. As soon as I started giving him a little food, I got my happy baby back (Cash was the exact same way - we have hungry kids.)
He's so close to rolling over on his own. I don't know if I'm ready for that.
He loves getting changed more than any baby I've ever seen - as soon as I lay him down on the changing table he breaks out in a huuuge grin. He's been that way from day 1. Its adorable.
As soon as he hears Nate's voice, he busts out the good smiles. Daddy coming home from work is his favorite time of day.
I can't imagine our family without him.
My computer decided to die and go to computer heaven, I broke a piece of our dishwasher today (thankfully it still works) and I found out its going to cost at least $700 to trim a couple of our trees in our yard.
So you can expect plenty of phone pictures for awhile.
Speaking of, I can't stop taking pictures of the changing leaves. We're surrounded by them and its pretty magical.

It was a whirlwind 2 weeks while we painted, re-finished cabinets and got the house ready to move into but we made our deadline.
We moved in the pouring rain with the help of our amazing group of friends and 6 days later I only have a couple of boxes left to unpack.
I'm tired. My left hip and leg that was completely destroyed by this last pregnancy aches and is often completely numb. Nate hasn't gotten a full night's sleep in far too long.
But we're homeowners. Worth it.
Cash loves the new house (LOVES) and slept all the way through the night the very first night we stayed here.
Everett has been able to take a real nap in his own bed without being constantly interrupted by a certain big brother.
We're home. And it's amazing.

Cash, after farting: Scuse me!
Me: Excuse you!
Cash: You fart?
Me: Did you fart?
Cash: All day!
Its the best.
